The Comenius Award recognizes an alumna or alumnus for outstanding achievement in his or her field of work. The Moravian College Alumni Association is pleased to present Laurie Riley Brubaker ’82 with its 2010 Comenius Award in high recognition of her passion and dedication to providing an essential service to those persons in society who most need it most.
A graduate of the Class of '82 with a B.A. in Clinical Psychology, Laurie is Senior Vice President of Aetna Pharmacy which includes the Pharmacy Benefits Management, Mail Order and Specialty Fulfillment divisions. She also has held management positions with Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Cigna HealthCare. As she advanced in her career, she recognized a vast need for insurance firms to provide coverage solutions for the uninsured and underserved in America.

As Chief Operating Officer for Aetna's Consumer Division, she proposed, developed and managed the Consumer Division which targets the working uninsured not covered by Medicare. A portion of this program makes available health insurance to children at reduced rates.
In 2008, she was named one of the Top 15 Women in Business by PINK Magazine. The Dallas Texas Business Journal listed her as one of the top ten Dallas Women to Watch.
Laurie and her husband Lloyd currently reside in Mansfield, TX, with their two children, where she is an avid runner and enjoys volunteering as a Sunday school teacher.
