Embark on an unforgettable artistic journey to Florence, where you’ll develop essential drawing skills through observational practice in a culturally rich setting. As you explore the city’s art, architecture, and history, you’ll deepen your understanding of its myths, symbols, and cultural heritage while strengthening your sketchbook practice with artistic experimentation, visual research, and personal reflection. By connecting your work to both historical and contemporary drawing traditions, you’ll refine your technical skills, think critically, and expand your creativity. This immersive experience fosters artistic growth, cultural engagement, and the ability to transform on-site inspiration into meaningful studio-based work. Students taking Drawing I can fulfill their M6 LinC requirement.

TENTATIVE Itinerary
All the landmarks mentioned in this itinerary will be visited. Some changes may be made in the order they will be visited depending upon the weather.
Day 1: Arrive in Florence, check into hotel, explore the neighborhood, and enjoy a group dinner.
Day 2: Guided walking tour of Florence, free time to explore, and a group dinner.
Day 3: Visit Pisa, Siena, and San Gimignano with guided tours and a wine cellar tour.
Day 4: Explore Boboli Gardens & Pitti Palace, and enjoy sunset at Piazzale Michelangelo.
Day 5: Guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery, lunch, and an evening stroll through historic Florence.
Day 6: Morning free, explore Mercato Centrale, and participate in an afternoon cooking class.
Day 7: Visit Museo di San Marco, an artist’s studio, and enjoy a final group dinner.
Day 8: Depart Florence for flight to the US.
