Moravian College to Hold Family Day Fall Celebration– September 19

Family Day 2015

Bethlehem, Pa., September 15, 2015—Students and family of the Moravian College community will participate in Family Day. This year’s annual fall celebration that will be held on Saturday, September 19.

The day’s festivities will begin at 9:30 a.m. when guests will enjoy coffee and the traditional Moravian sugar cake, while getting the opportunity to meet president of the college, Bryon L. Grigsby ’90. Family day participants will choose between two information sessions being held between 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. “The Moravian Student Experience” will consist of a panel of students answering questions and showing families what it is truly like to be a member of the Moravian College community. The second option is the “Study Abroad Experience” where Kerry Sethi, director of international studies will outline the information needed to partake in the various study abroad programs.  

Guests will be led to a tailgating picnic on the Comenius Quad at noon where they will enjoy a luncheon with a photo booth and a caricaturist to enjoy. The marching band and cheerleaders will contribute to the event providing even more entertainment for family and friends.  

For the remainder of the day, students and their families can either attend one of the many sporting events ranging from tennis matches, men’s soccer games, or a football game.  

Guests will also be offered a tour of Bethlehem Steelstacks, the opportunity to watch the Jurassic World movie, or attend another studying abroad session that will help guide students planning to participate during the Spring 2016 semester.  

Visitors will be invited to Borhek Chapel to attend Mass. The day will be concluded at Whe HUB Marketplace where those who made reservations will enjoy a buffet and a game of BINGO sponsored by the IMPACT program. The remaining guests are invited by the Music Department to “A Night of Moravian Stars” at Foy Hall on Hurd Campus, to enjoy a recital.
